SHARJAH, UAE / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia will commence direct flights between Sharjah and Gdansk on Dec. 14, 2026. This will introduce a new air route linking the UAE with northern Poland. The airline plans to operate five weekly flights between Sharjah International Airport and Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport. Flights are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This new route offers travelers in Poland’s Pomeranian region a direct air connection to Sharjah.
On Mondays and Saturdays, flight G9 0628 departs Sharjah at 4 p.m. and arrives in Gdansk at 8 p.m. Conversely, flight G9 0629 departs Gdansk at 8:50 p.m. and reaches Sharjah at 6:10 a.m. the following morning. Flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays depart Sharjah at 8:15 a.m., with return flights leaving Gdansk at 1:05 p.m. and arriving in Sharjah at 10:25 p.m.
Gdansk will become Air Arabia’s fourth Polish destination from Sharjah, following the carrier’s December expansion that will take effect soon. Currently, the airline serves Krakow and Warsaw Chopin Airport from its main hub in the UAE. Additionally, it will launch flights to Katowice on Dec. 17, 2026, just three days after the Gdansk route starts. The Katowice service will operate four times weekly, further extending the airline’s growing presence in Poland.
Gdansk enhances direct connectivity with northern Poland
The new service to Gdansk introduces a Baltic coast destination to Air Arabia’s European route network from Sharjah. The airline also maintains flights to several key European cities, including Athens, Vienna, Prague, Milan, Munich, Rome, and London Gatwick. Gdansk Airport serves the broader Tri-City area of Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot, as well as other regions in northern Poland. The airport provides both domestic and international links for leisure and business travelers across the area.
Air Arabia Group CEO Adel Al Ali noted that Gdansk would broaden the carrier’s footprint in Poland. Tomasz Kloskowski, President of Gdansk Airport, also emphasized the direct connection between the Pomeranian region and the UAE. The airport has identified Sharjah as a transfer hub for onward travel to destinations in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and East Africa. These new flights will allow Gdansk passengers to access Air Arabia’s extensive network via its Sharjah hub.
Scheduled launch in December with five weekly flights
Air Arabia operates Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft throughout its network and has already opened bookings for the Gdansk route. According to the airline, flight G9 0628 will depart Sharjah on Mondays and Saturdays, with G9 0629 serving the return sectors. The flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays will use G9 0626 from Sharjah and G9 0627 from Gdansk. All timetable times are listed in local time, and the service will run nonstop both ways.
The December 14 launch will expand Air Arabia’s direct Poland routes shortly before the carrier begins flights to Katowice. With existing services to Krakow and Warsaw, the addition of Gdansk and Katowice will bring the total Polish destinations served by the airline from Sharjah to four. Gdansk will have five flights each week, while Katowice will operate four flights per week as per the announced schedules. Air Arabia maintains that the Gdansk service start date and five-flight weekly schedule are confirmed for December 2026.
